Also known as the Magi or the Three Kings, the Wisemen came from an undisclosed location in the East to pay homage to the Christ child in the Bible's christmas story. Lore indicates that their names may have been Caspar (or Gaspar), Balthazaar, and Melchior. Among the symbolic gifts they came bearing were gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Each of these were considered to be precious and valuable items that represent both a kingship on Earth, as well as more of a spiritual one.
