wise men History & Costumes

Known as the Three Kings, the Three Wise Men, or the Magi, these learned men from the far corners of the ancient world followed the Star of Bethlehem to bear gifts to the infant jesus. Bringing rare and precious gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the newborn Messiah as he lay in a manger in the humble stable of his birth, it was these three wise men who knelt before jesus, mary, and joseph. Whether they were kings, astrologers, sorcerers -- or a combination of all three -- the Gaspar, Balthazar, and Melchior figure prominently into the story of the First christmas.

The roles of the Three Wise Men call for costumes befitting the status of these kingly men from the far corners of the globe. In sizes to fit both adults and children, each individually sold Wise Men costume comes in rich, royal colors accented with gold embellishment and designs that recall the regal attire of Grecian emperors, African rulers, and Middle Eastern kings.
