The ultimate underdog, Rocky Balboa is a Philadelphia boxer who goes from nobody to somebody in the 1976 film, Rocky. Balboa, by a twist of fate, receives the opportunity of a lifetime facing World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Apollo Creed. The actor who portrayed Rocky, Sylvester Stallone also wrote the script and the film received that year's Academy Award for Best Picture.
