While santa Claus is a welcome holiday sight, as are several cheerful elves, snowmen, and other colorful Winter Wonderland characters, the real reason for celebrating christmas came with the birth of jesus Christ in a stable in Bethlehem thousands of years ago.

While traveling, a young woman named mary and her husband, joseph were denied a proper room at an inn and were allowed to sleep in the inn's stable. There, in a manger filled with straw and surrounded by beasts of burden, Christ the Savior was born to His humble beginnings. With His birth heralded by stars and symbols in the sky, three wise men (also known as the Three Kings) came to the stable bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the Holy Family.

A variety of Nativity Costumes are available to re-create the holy scene of jesus' birth. Flowing robes with appropriate wigs and beards are available for the holy couple, mary and joseph. Some simple shepherds outfits will help pad out the scene and more elaborate robes are in order for the Three Kings who come bearing gifts. Other costumes that may come in handy for your own christmas pageant, play, or Nativity scene are costumes of stable animals and a glistening angel costume to preside over the scene.

Most Nativity costumes are available in both adult and children's sizes.
