Medusa History & Costumes

Once a beautiful woman, Medusa angered the goddess Athena by having a fling with the sea god, Poseidon in Athena's temple. The only mortal of the three Gorgon sisters, Medusa was punished by Athena with the worst eternal hair day ever, her hair turned into a nest of living, venomous snakes. Even worse, one direct look from Medusa could turn mortals to stone where they stood. Medusa was eventually put out of her misery by the hero Perseus who lopped her head off, using it to save his beloved Andromeda from a sea monster.
