No matter who the monarch may be, the courtly king of comedy is always the jester. A permanent funny fixture in he hallowed halls of royalty, the jester amused all of the lords, ladies, and loyal subjects of the king. Although times have changed and there aren't many castles in need of a court jester, these merry men are usually seen in parades, particularly on floats and mingling with the crowd during mardi gras.
